Harrison-Croft have been developing a driverless serial colour display for both the hobbyist and professional alike. The compact 1.77 inch full colour TFT is a very simple programmable screen with an onboard 1Mb EEPROM which can be used to store information using any one of PICOLOUR's serial interfaces, this can be used for storing user icons, text strings, images ect.
Full details can be found over on the official PICOLOUR site where you will soon be able to find demos as well as full developors forum.

Microchip are due to release their new PIC18F45K20 and PIC18F46K20 microcontrollers which will be available early next month.
The new K-series products set a new benchmark for low power, low cost and high performance;
and we will be among the first to develop them into new products.
"The PIC18F4XK/2XK20 Flash microcontroller products offer all of the advantages of the well recognized PIC18F High Performance; 8-bit, C compiler optimized architecture, industry leading peripheral set and a large selection of memory and pin count options. Performance enhancements include a 16 MHz precision internal oscillator which can be used with the standard 4X PLL to produce 16 MIPS of performance (64 MHz @ 3.0 Volts)."
